Our Bell IV full mallet Side Saddle putter (390 grams head weight) right-handed side-saddle putter is 100% CNC milled from 303 Stainless Steel billets. It features a heel-toe-weighted full mallet putter design in a side-saddle (face-on) style putter.
The side-saddle, often called a face-on putter, provides a putting stroke that helps with the “Yips” so common for older golfers. Originally made famous by “Slammin Sam Snead,” the USGA initially claimed the side-saddle putter gave golfers too much of an advantage. It was later declared a conforming putter and allowed for USGA tournaments.
The mallet side saddle putter lie angle is upright and complies with USGA Guidelines to allow usage in USGA events. The side-saddle putter is often the answer for the senior player with back pain from practice putting with standard length putters. Unlike standard length and contemporary Broomstick putting strokes, the Side Saddle is designed to have both feet pointed to the target line and the golf ball is outside of your right foot for the right handed golfer. A good illustration is found in YouTube videos of Sam Snead putting Side Saddle. However, you may also putt in a more traditional putting stance.
